""Is", "is." "is" — the idiocy of the word haunts me. If it were abolished, human thought might begin to make sense. I don't know what anything "is"; I only know how it seems to me at this moment."
Robert Anton Wilson
I've not been blogging much. I've mostly been on my pod, Diving Deeper, which has almost become a mini 'zaadz' for me - a group of inspired and inspiring people gathering together to support and encourage each other. I sometimes miss the Larger Zaadz and wish I could clone myself so I could be everywhere here at once. Perhaps in some ways I am, who knows.
I'm also apartment hunting in Berlin, which takes up an equal amount of time and energy... I hope by the next time I blog I can say Yay, the perfect home has arrived.
Robert Anton Wilson
If you have read some of my blogs (eg Truth vs Thinking, Logic vs Aliens) you will know that I have an interest in dogmatic rationalism. To quote from Wiki:
"In a 1988 interview, [Robert Anton Wilson] was asked about his recent book The New Inquisition: Irrational Rationalism and the Citadel of Science. Wilson commented: "I coined the term irrational rationalism because those people claim to be rationalists, but they're governed by such a heavy body of taboos. They're so fearful, and so hostile, and so narrow, and frightened, and uptight and dogmatic... I wrote this book because I got tired satirizing fundamentalist Christianity... I decided to satirize fundamentalist materialism for a change, because the two are equally comical... The materialist fundamentalists are funnier than the Christian fundamentalists, because they think they're rational! ...They're never skeptical about anything except the things they have a prejudice against. None of them ever says anything skeptical about the AMA, or about anything in establishment science or any entrenched dogma. They're only skeptical about new ideas that frighten them. They're actually dogmatically committed to what they were taught when they were in college..."
After reading a few chapters of Quantum Psychology I decided to check Robert out on the net elsewhere, and once again when deciding to blog about someone I find exciting and inspiring, I find that they have died. ( see my blogs The Great IZ, Life Without Death, & Grumpy Krishnamurti....).
Robert died this year on January 11. He lives on in his books and writings. He wrote the following on his blog just a few days before he died:
"Various medical authorities swarm in and out of here predicting I have between two days and two months to live. I think they are guessing. I remain cheerful and unimpressed. I look forward without dogmatic optimism but without dread. I love you all and I deeply implore you to keep the lasagna flying.
Please pardon my levity, I don't see how to take death seriously. It seems absurd. " RAW~~

Ah…RAW, one of my heroes ever since I read the Illumintus Trilogy back in the 70ies. Him and his old pal Timothy Leary (they even wrote some book together) were really hilarious, making me take spirituality not overly serious (and very serious also; but that's another story).
Did you know that it was RAW who got the crazyness about 23 going? Yep! I guess it was one of his many experiments.
So happy that you found the man and his writings…
i love to listen to your writings ., you seem to be busy ,, lets have a cup of tea .,. love andrea
Andrea… only just saw your comment! Thank you.
