Well, it seems like ideas to change the world are rather thin around here.
As light relief here's what last week's Sunday Times Culture magazine had on offer:

I figured out a wise and insightful comment to share with a colleague, a very good internal medicine specialist, who was moping about his recently-devalued retirement.
1. We are in a profession that is highly-valued and intrinsically rewarding. There is always a place for good doctors to find work (tho getting paid for it may be an increasing challenge as time goes on), that is satisfying and uplifting - we can go home every day able to name people we have helped. I STRONGLY encourage you to reflect on and pray for those you have helped, every day. This is an excellent cure for depression and self-absorption.
2. At this rate, we will never make enough to retire, so society will continue to benefit from our service, which is a good thing.
My employer has blocked Peter Nalitch ( and everyone else on youtube, as apparently worthless). I will check HIM out at home. Love all! Jim Smeltzer
Thanks for stopping by, Jim.
I don't have retirement savings coming my way, never have. Not sure how this will feel in 10 years time, but then, who knows what will happen tomorrow. Funny how we don't miss what we don't have, but try to hold onto what we do! (at least I do…)
I'm truly grateful I do what I love to do, and yes, we all need encouragement to see the value in our work/life, regardless of financial recompense.
I've just made a new blog about Peter Nalitch, hope you enjoy it!
Love,
Sandra
