Dying to Live

Well, February is over. What a month. I think it's time for some inspiring and interesting videos...
First: Randy Pausch - reprising his "Last Lecture" on the Oprah Show. He has pancreatic cancer, and was told he had three to six months to live last summer. He's still alive.
I love the bit about choosing to be a 'tigger' or an 'eeyore'...
Randy (www.randypausch.com) is a virtual reality pioneer, human-computer interaction researcher, co-founder of CMU's Entertainment Technology Center (www.etc.cmu.edu), and creator of the Alice (www.alice.org) software project.

Sandra- WOW! I’m crying right now, and feeling the feeling the fullness of my emotional body, both sadness and great joy. Having had a lover die from pancreatic cancer, this really struck a deep nerve with me. My lover was also a “tigger.” I think someone once said, “Wise souls will teach us to die well,” but I’d say here, and Randy is an example, that wise souls will teach us to live well, even in their dying.
It was Rilke who said:
“Life and death: they are one, at core entwined.
Who understands himself from his own strin
pressess himself into a drop of wine
and throws himself into th purest flame.”
I think that we have opportunity even in our brokeness, when we have been so opened up, to greater possibilities of living a life as a “tigger.” Stand up and roar.
John. Very touched reading you.
Yes, to everything you write, so beautifully.
My ex nicknamed me “Tigger”… and of course Tigers are my favourite cats. I don’t always live up to what is possible for me, but seeing Randy and reading you, I realise that there really is no excuse, is there, to at least go for it, whatever ‘it’ is.
Thank you.
Love,
Sandra
Thank you sister. I asked Goddess for strength this morning and she spoke through you in your sharing here.
Love, hugs and blessings….
Agnes Gooch started out as an Eeyore and ended up a Tigger, impregnated with life … I give birth each day to greater possibilites of being, my legacy for the world. I ask myself, “How would I want o be remembered?” And, right along with that question, I ask my friends (as a reality check-in), “How will you remember me?” You can see your legacy now by who you are, what you are creating. Eeyores are forgotten or EATEN!
Beautiful reminder of what it means to be alive. To the Tigger in all of us; long may s/he live!
My dear friend Rudy was diagnosed HIV positive 7 years ago. He is still symptom free and living every breath with gusto. And my dear friend Diane who was diagnosed with stomach cancer went into spontaneous remission and is cancer free 3 years after her diagnosis. They are both Tiggers, and I don't think that fact is unrelated to how well they are doing.
Thank you Sandra.
Sandra,
Wow! So heart wrenchingly great! Thank you and Oprah for making this available! I'm amazed!
Lovehugs,
Victoria
An amazing guy, so brave and '' bouncing '' with life, he wants to gift his children with his truth and shares all of the wonderful people who have taught him much.
So inspirational and touching…
