Thanks for sharing this. I loved the wonderful facial expressions. It took me a while to notice that the maker made very subtle rhythmic adjustments to the timing, stretching out the thoughtful moments. I imagine it took me a bit of time to figure this out is because of the speed of my internet connection - still, interesting.
Knowing NLP, it was interesting to see “where” people were searching for the answers, whether in visual, auditory, or kinesthetic arenas.
I don't quite “get” what “thought moments” are that the Buddha wanted us to pay attention to, but this experiment certainly is food for thought! Thanks for sharing!
Blessings, OM Bastet
Janine, I also took a while to figure out what was happening! I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag in the blog ;-)
OM - I think what is meant is about 'watching' thoughts, perhaps.
And on a peruse of the net “thought moments” seems to be specific:
“The teachers tell us that “me” is a series of thought-moments. Each thought-moment conditions the next thought-moment. In the same way, the last thought-moment of one life conditions the first thought-moment of another life, which is the continuation of a series. “The person who dies here and is reborn elsewhere is neither the same person, nor another,” Walpola Rahula wrote.”
and, there is reference to the “last thought-moment” being critical as to how one enters the next life, however this is disputed in terms of being what the Buddha actually said - it seems to be a later theory.
